Two of Every Three Homes Here Are Mobile Homes
Moon Lake is a census-designated place with no city government, 4,817 residents and 2,215 housing units. Of its 1,704 housing units, 1,068 are mobile homes, 62.7%. Only 544 are single-family detached houses. Nothing else in our Pasco service area looks like that.
That shapes the jobs we get asked about as concrete contractors in Moon Lake: carport slabs, porch or entry pads, a walkway to a steps landing, a short driveway off Moon Lake Road. About 79% of occupied homes are owner-occupied, and the median home dates to 1982, so an original slab may be more than 40 years old.
We won't guess at a slab under a manufactured home itself. Whether a home sits on piers, tie-downs or a slab is a question for Pasco Building Construction Services, and we send you there before we price it. For carports, porches, walks and entries beside the home, see our concrete slab page.
A Dude Ranch Casino and a Lake Named Moon
Moon Lake Gardens Dude Ranch was built here between 1933 and 1937 by Ed Haley, owner of Clearwater's Fort Harrison Hotel, with cottages, a casino and gardens. The lake the community is named for sits inside its boundary, and Moon Lake Road (CR 587) and Ridge Road (CR 524) both cross it.
That history doesn't change how concrete contractors in Moon Lake pour. The water does. A good part of Moon Lake is mapped as flood zone A, and the soil survey reads wet to match, so our first question about a lot is where it sits on the flood map.
The community first appeared as its own census place in 2010 and covers about 14.7 square kilometers of land. Every sample point inside it carries ZIP 34654, the New Port Richey code, but there's no city hall to visit. Building permits come from Pasco County Building Construction Services, and a new apron in county right-of-way needs the county's Driveway Connection permit. The written estimate names the office your job goes to.
Our typical ranges as concrete contractors in Moon Lake. The flood zone, how much fill and base the ground needs, and the permit step move you up or down inside them.
